All eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.5m) in the final matches of Fantasy Premier League Double Gameweek 22 on Wednesday.
Ronaldo was the most-captained player in the Gameweek and his 1.5+million armband backers will be hoping he is passed fit to face Brentford after the Portuguese missed Manchester United’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa at the weekend.

Ronaldo | 1,555 | – |
Kane | 709 | – |
Dennis | 613 | 2 |
There will also be much interest on Wednesday in Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane (£12.3m).
The second most-captained player by managers goes to Leicester City having scored 109 points across 12 previous appearances against them.
If he extends that impressive record it will go some way to making up for his match against Arsenal being postponed last weekend.
There is no second chance however for Emmanuel Dennis (£6.1m), who was chosen by over 600,000 managers for Watford‘s appealing trips to Newcastle United and Burnley.
The Hornets’ top scorer was unable to add to his eight goals in the 1-1 draw at St James’ Park and on Monday it was announced that the match at Burnley had been postponed.

Player | Captained by | Pts |

Ronaldo | 59 | – |
Fernandes | 16 | 14 |
Dennis | 7 | 2 |
Most of the world’s top 100 managers picked Ronaldo, while some opted for Dennis, but Kane did not feature in their top three.
Sixteen members of the elite group instead opted for Bruno Fernandes (£11.6m), who, thanks to a brace on Saturday has now produced four double-figure hauls in five appearances against Villa.
The Portuguese also bagged maximum bonus points to return 14 points, which he will hope to add to at Brentford on Wednesday.
Millions of chips in play
More than a million managers used a chip in a bid to maximise their returns in Double Gameweek 22.
GW22 chips used
Chip used | Managers |
Free Hit | 677,118 |
---|---|
Wildcard | 585,135 |
Bench Boost | 57,393 |

In total, 677,118 FPL bosses played one of their two Free Hits, nearly matching the 704,625 who used the chip for the reduced Boxing Day schedule in GW19. In addition, over half a million managers opted for the Wildcard this week.
Most-popular captain Ronaldo was also Triple-Captained by 16,331 managers.

Jota | 1,051 | 3 |
Maddison | 918 | – |
Mount | 885 | 3 |
Diogo Jota (£8.3m) was the top transfer target ahead of the deadline. More than a million managers snapped up the Liverpool attacking midfielder, but they were frustrated as he blanked in their 3-0 win over Brentford.
Over 300,000 of those managers made a direct swap from Jota’s team-mate Salah, the most-sold player this Gameweek due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
James Maddison (£6.9m) is enjoying the best form of his career, amassing 56 points over his last six matches. The Leicester midfielder was bought by more than 918,000 managers, with perhaps many hoping for a Double Gameweek only for his weekend trip to Burnley to be postponed.
Maddison could at least make it worth the wait for his owners because he faces Spurs on Wednesday.
Mason Mount (£7.7m) gained more than 885,000 new owners for Chelsea‘s trips to Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
But the midfielder was benched for the first of his two fixtures before blanking at Brighton on Tuesday.
GW22 most transferred-out players
Player | Transferred out by (‘000s) |
Salah | 2,238 |
---|---|
Son | 1,338 |
James | 822 |
All three of the most-sold players are without a match in Double Gameweek 22.
Joining Salah in being shown the door are Son Heung-min (£10.7m) and Reece James (£6.2m), who both miss out with injury.
